not forgotten

Kobane, July 2015

*A call for prayers, for thoughts, for stillness, for appreciation of life*

Rest in peace you beautiful, brave beings in Kobane and all across Rojava, Northern Syria. We will never, ever forget the kindness, fierceness and belief in a better world you have personally showed us. Neither bullets nor bombs will stop you. For the 300+ who have returned to the earth, we love you, with every passing pulse, with every tear, with every smile.

For those of you lying in the brave small hospital in Suruç and elsewhere, our prayers are with you.

Not a day will go by where we don’t dedicate our lifes work to helping you accomplish the dreams you hold up; providing aid for refugees, training international volunteers, re-imagining society, picking up a rifle to defend your land, travelling overseas to teach us, making music to lift our souls, falling in the dirt to make sure your body, but not a vision, is buried.

This is a political game for both Europe, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Israel and North America, lived lives are statistics, our lives are a statistic to them. Neither nation cares for the eradication of ISIS and some of those nations, especially Saudi Arabia and Turkey have been directly assisting ISIS both monetarily and militarily.

Chaos is the ultimate facilitator of war, war is the ultimate facilitator of capital. Black and brown bodies are viewed as fodder in the military-industrial complexes pursuit of power and wealth, this injustice will end.

Bijî berxwedana Rojava.
Bijî berxwedana Rojava.
Bijî berxwedana Rojava.

Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’oun.
